Quick summary
- Check how a filter connects to your shower before anything else, and what happens to your old hand shower.
- Look for filter stages named layer by layer, and wording that says what they are designed to do.
- The refill rhythm is what you live with, so check intervals, pack sizes and whether refills are sold on their own.
- Reminders and a Refill Plan keep the routine going when life gets busy.
- A shower filter is a comfort choice. PUB says Singapore's tap water is suitable for drinking directly from the tap.
Most shower filters look alike in a product photo. The differences that matter show up later: on the day you fit it, in the week the first refill is due, and in the month you forget. This guide walks through five questions to ask of any shower filter before you buy, then shows how SEASEE answers each one.
One note before the questions. Singapore's tap water is treated by PUB, the national water agency, and PUB says it is suitable for drinking directly from the tap without any further filtration. A shower filter is a separate choice. It is a comfort and preference decision, for people who like how their shower feels with one in place. That is a perfectly good reason to buy one, and the only one we offer.
Five questions to ask of any shower filter
1. How does it connect?
Start with your own shower, not the filter. Look at where the water comes out and how it gets there.
- A hand shower on a flexible hose. Filters made for this set-up either replace the hand shower or sit in the line between the hose and the shower head.
- A fixed overhead shower with no hose. This is a different case. Hose-mounted filters are often not designed for it, so check before you order.
Then ask how the filter goes on, and what happens to the shower you already have. A filter that screws on by hand, in place of your hand shower, keeps the job small. If you rent, you will also want to know that your old hand shower can go back on the day you move out.
2. What are the filter stages designed to do?
Every filter describes what it does. Read that wording slowly. Careful language names the materials and says what they are designed to help with. Be wary of figures you cannot check, and of any suggestion that the water in your home is not fit to use.
A practical test is whether the stages are listed by name, in order. When a seller tells you what is inside, layer by layer, you can compare like with like and decide for yourself.
3. How often are refills changed, and can you get them?
Buying the shower is a single moment. Changing its filters is the routine you live with for as long as you own it. Before you buy, find out:
- how often each refill is changed, as a guide, and whether the seller says that timing varies with water conditions and use;
- how many filters come in a pack;
- whether refills are sold on their own, so you are not tied to buying another kit.
A rhythm you can keep matters more than any single feature.
4. How will you keep the routine?
A routine is easier to keep when you have somewhere to note the date, a reminder when a filter is due, or refills delivered at a rhythm you choose. Ask, too, how a delivery rhythm is changed later, and whether you can skip or pause a delivery.
5. Who answers when you have a question?
Fitting questions come up. Is this the right thread? Why does the joint drip? A seller you can message locally, with a photo of your shower, saves a lot of guessing.
How SEASEE answers each point
Connection
The Basic and Premium shower kits are handheld showers with the filters already inside. They are designed for home installation on a standard shower hose: unscrew your hand shower and screw the SEASEE shower on, hand-tight. Keep your old hand shower, because it screws back on whenever you like. The steps are in Fitting a SEASEE shower filter by hand. If your shower is a fixed head with no hose, the kits are not designed for it.
Filter stages
Each kit holds two filters. A sediment body filter sits in the handle, and a five-layer head filter sits behind the spray plate: a micro fabric filter, an activated carbon filter, a ceramic ball layer, a chlorine-reduction ball and a second micro fabric filter. Together they are designed to help hold back sediment and reduce residual chlorine. We describe the layers and do not publish performance figures.
Refills
| Refill | Change about every | In a pack |
|---|---|---|
| Sediment body filter | 2 to 4 weeks | 3 filters |
| Five-layer head filter | 2 months | 1 filter |
| Vita C head refill | 2 months | 1 filter |
Timing varies with local water conditions and how often the shower is used. Every refill is sold on its own, and each refill page names the kits it goes with. How often should you change your shower filter? covers the schedule and the signs in full.
Routine
With a SEASEE account, My refills lists when each filter is due, and a reminder email is optional. Signs your shower filter is due explains both. If you would rather not keep count at all, single refills (not bundles) can go on the Refill Plan, at a delivery rhythm you choose. We email you 3 days before each order, and you can skip, pause or cancel from your account. The plan renews until you cancel it. To change the refills or quantities in a running plan, cancel it and set up a new one.
Support
Send a photo of your shower on WhatsApp and we will help you check which kit suits it. Every SEASEE filter is made in Korea, and each product page shows the details of that kit.
Choosing between the SEASEE showers
There are three ways in, all on the shower collection. The Basic kit is a first filter shower with a clear handle. The Premium kit takes the same filters and refills, with a sturdier, premium-quality build and an anti-slip handle in Bright White, Opaq Misty or Jet Black. Vita C is the scented option, in Seasee (ocean), Lavender or Rose: the Vita C shower head filter is an external Vitamin C filter cartridge, gel-type and scented, and the Vita C head refill fits the Basic and Premium kits. Basic, Premium or Vita C sets them side by side.

The checklist in one line
Know how it connects, read what the stages are designed to do, check the refill rhythm, plan how you will remember, and know who to ask. Then buy the shower that fits your bathroom and your habits.
